A course every women should take.....

Breast cancer is the most diagnosed cancer among Canadian women, with over 20,000 new cases diagnosed each year and over 5,000 deaths. Back in November 2011 a Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care made a recommendation that patients AND physicians should no longer complete breast exams. This sent a shock wave through breast cancer organizations and health care. The self breast exam has been a keystone part of hundreds of breast cancer campaigns and promoted for over a decade.
In my opinion this recommendation is very worrisome and problematic. Now, many Canadian women will not be checking their breasts and therefore not becoming familiar with what is "normal" for them. Even worse their physicians will not be completing routine breast exams. Therefore for most women the first screening for breast cancer will be after age 50 with a mammogram. Jump to this workshop.
I am putting on this workshop because I still strongly believe self-breast exams are important part of preventive care and something that women can do to take hold of their health. This workshop is designed to empower participants in regards to understanding their bodies.
This workshop will include:
You will go home with:
-Self breast exam booklet
-LIV-self breast exam kit. For more information about this exam aid click here (http://www.liv.com/)
-Confidence and deeper understanding of your own body.
